Myopia (Nearsightedness)

Nearsightedness, or myopia, is a common condition where close objects appear clear, but distant objects are blurry. This happens because the eyeball is too long relative to the focusing power of the cornea and lens, causing light rays to focus in front of the retina rather than directly on it. Myopia can be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery. It’s important for people with myopia to have regular eye exams, as they may have a higher risk of developing certain eye conditions.

If you are nearsighted, you can see things that are close up really well, but things farther away look blurry. It’s like your eyes are great at reading a book but not good at seeing the blackboard.
