Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve, the vital link between the eye and the brain, usually due to high intraocular pressure. This damage can lead to loss of vision and eventually blindness if not treated. Early stages of glaucoma often have no symptoms, which is why it is known as the “silent thief of sight.” Regular eye exams are crucial for early detection and management, which may include medications, laser treatment, or surgery to lower eye pressure.

Glaucoma is when the pressure inside your eye gets too high and starts to hurt the nerve that helps you see. If it’s not caught early, it can make you lose your sight.
